I love it when things come together…
Every so often, different parts of life come together in unexpected and meaningful ways. Recently, one of those moments began with a new acquaintance.
Several months ago, I met a woman named Sarah who had lived in the same part of Virginia where I now reside. The timing was unusual: I was just settling in as she was preparing to leave. Although our time in the area barely overlapped, we met for coffee and got to know each other. We stayed in touch, and in a recent conversation, she mentioned a local women’s Bible study group she had especially enjoyed.
The group sounded appealing, but the 30-mile drive felt daunting—a long way for a city girl like me. For perspective, I once stopped attending a Bible study in Washington, DC, because the seven-mile drive took more than an hour, followed by the challenge of finding parking.
This trip, according to GPS, would take about 35 minutes—still longer than I wanted to spend in the car. Even so, I decided that the chance to make friends was worth the drive. I’m glad I went: the women were lovely and made it clear that they genuinely wanted me to join them.
By the end of the meeting, I was already planning to return, but one final conversation gave me an extra nudge. When I mentioned the general area where I live, one of the women surprised me by correctly guessing which farm we had purchased. The group knew the farm’s previous owners well, and one woman shared that she had even helped clean the house so it would be ready for my husband and me.
What made the connection even more remarkable was that she lives in a small town 30 minutes from our farm, in a different direction from the Bible study. Our paths had crossed without any direct introduction from the previous owners, and that amazes me.
Moments like this remind me how God can bring seemingly separate parts of life together in surprising ways. It feels as though He is saying, “See? I know everything felt chaotic and disconnected, but look—this is how it all fits together. Does that feel better?”
Yes. Yes, that does feel better. Thank you!
